A large percentage of the information presented on this web site is the result of research undertaken by John J. Breyel, Jr, between 1992 to 1997. Aside from tracing the permutations of the Breyel surname and its various genealogical lines, his quest to discover his ancestors grew out of memory of a lost copy of the “Breyel Family Bible” he had seen as a boy.
To regain this lost treasure, he spent many hours at the Mormon Archives in the United States and contacted archivists in Europe. Having compiled his findings, he then shared it with his children and relatives. The following web pages are a summation of his efforts.
For my own part I have merely posted his data, adding shreds of information garnered from relatives, near and distant, who share a common thread of ancestry with the Breyel family.
